For a long time, the connection between queer studies and pedagogy was considered non-existent in the German-speaking academic context. While there has been a lively debate about the relationship between queer studies and pedagogy in the English-speaking world for over two decades, contributions from educational science on this topic remain a marginal phenomenon in this country. What characterizes queer pedagogy, and how does it differ from other seemingly related terms? The anthology seeks to provide answers to these and other questions. The contributions can generally be understood as exemplary discussions for the research field of queer pedagogy; they delineate the framework of such a field. In this way, the volume presented here serves as a call to consider this outlined research area as a specific field of study.
