Product details
When young Rosie leaves Northern England in 1906 to take a position as a maid in the household of Emmeline Pankhurst in London, she has no idea what influence this famous women's rights activist will have on her. Inspired by numerous encounters with colorful personalities visiting Pankhurst's legendary salon, Rosie decides to politically engage in the fight for women's suffrage. Side by side with other like-minded individuals, the enterprising maid plans political actions and protests, demonstrating not only outside the women's prison Holloway, where Emmeline Pankhurst goes on hunger strike. Despite all the activities, there is still a little time for love, and when Rosie meets the attractive dockworker George, she believes she has found the right one. If only the charming, freckled Jane wouldn’t suddenly appear, complicating things for Rosie.
