Stefan is fourteen when his life changes overnight with Germany's invasion of Poland in the summer of 1939. He, who has always been a good student, is no longer allowed to attend school, and his father is deported to Germany as a forced laborer. Soon, it becomes a matter of survival for him and his family. Two years later, he meets Willi, a young German soldier. For both, it is love at first sight, but love between men is strictly persecuted by the Nazis. Despite the immense danger that a relationship poses for both of them, they take the risk. After several months of secret happiness, Willi is sent to the Eastern Front. Stefan is desperate.
