Yes, the software can be downloaded from the Logitch homepage. However, the Plus version comes with a Prezi...but I haven't yet found out how to activate the subscription myself...... There were no instructions, link or voucher in the package. :-(
With the Mac, the USB dongle is not required. I do not know whether it is possible to operate the Spotlight on Windows computers without it. I also don't know whether you only need a replacement product for the USB dongle.
Hello, I cannot confirm this, at least on a MacBook with 13.1 and Keynote. Here, the pointer and magnifying glass work both in Keynote and on the desktop. I will test it again after updating to 13.2.
But the software isn’t needed - in fact; it’s better without. To the Mac it’s just a Bluetooth mouse peripheral. You can use an app like Karabiner-Elements to make it do anything.

With the presentation software, the product is compatible with 2003 & higher, Keynote, Google Slides, Adobe PDF, Prezi.

You have to install a small software on your notebook so that you can use "Logitech Spotlight".
It doesn't matter what device you connect to the notebook.
I use the notebook with a beamer or a TV set.
Without installing the "Logitech Spotlight" software, the thing does not work.
Ok, I found this video:

It says that you can change the size of the spotlight and even the colour. Unfortunately, this is not demonstrated :-(
Hi, I have just tested the scroll function on my Mac. Scrolling in Safari is possible without any problems with the Spotlight Plus. I can highly recommend the device. Best regards
Hello B4belfish. There are posts about this in the community. In my opinion, it is also confusing. The fact is, the cheaper product is the cheaper one, or the one with more functions. Maybe Logitech just wants to promote the product. I opted for the Spotlight Plus and am happy with it.
I have a Spotlight from 2019, never used except for a short test. Now I wanted to put it into operation. It doesn't work. A web search revealed that ALL Spotlights (at least from this time) can no longer be charged after a deep discharge and are scrap. It was the same for thousands. I find it scandalous that Logitech does not admit to having had a serial defect and repair these products or replace them with working ones.
Is it not possible to find an accommodating solution and at least give a new Spotlight to those affected at a reduced price?
And will the problem be fixed if I buy a new Spotlight?
I have now done some research and found a solution: Logitech has apparently built a tragic design flaw into at least the first batches of Spotlights: When their battery is discharged, there is no power to operate the charging logic, even if the device is plugged into the charger... This means that in such a case, the darker plastic piece at the back (labelled "logi" in large letters) must be carefully loosened with a Japanese knife (it is glued on and snaps into place at the top) and pulled away downwards. Then use a Japanese knife to scrape off the yellow film at the battery connections. I then charged the LiPo battery for 1 minute using a 9V battery and a small cage (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/max-hauri-9v-block-batteriehalter-2-stk-batterie-zubehoer-12456347) (black=minus pole, red=plus pole). Lo and behold. Then the Spotlight worked like new again. Cover back and that's it. Now I have to make sure that it no longer discharges deeply.
Unbelievable that the USB-C voltage in their design can't be used for this. I hope Logitech has changed this in the newer batches. A clear design flaw.
Hoi
On the one hand, the higher price probably has to do with the fact that Digitec/Galaxus bought it at a corresponding price and it is now in stock. On the other hand, they bought it in bulk from Microspot or DQ (the two cheapest for this product at the moment) - I know, but it doesn't interest us as consumers.
I see 2 options: a) wait - sometimes prices go steeply downhill again or b) well, just buy it there... I know, not a satisfactory answer, I don't work at Digitec and yes, sometimes I also rub my eyes... and wait or, if I need a part, buy it somewhere else...

Salut Massimo
As Logitech writes in their help section on this topic, this function is not possible with Apple devices. Personally, this has never bothered me so far, as I stand at the Macbook to start a new presentation or to switch between presentations. If you still miss the theatrical start from a distance at the beginning, I recommend starting the presentation before your audience enters and fading it out with the black screen function, or simply inserting an additional start slide. I hope this has helped you.
