Pre-Employment Screening (PES) - the security check of applicants before entering a company - is becoming increasingly important. Companies must incorporate PES into their recruitment process to comply with international regulations. The risk-based PES model described in this practical guide addresses this challenge for the first time by defining strategic screening objectives and then conducting a risk assessment of the open position. As a result, a matrix of potential risks (risk profile matrix) is created. This assessment serves as a measurement tool for determining the extent to which intruding into the privacy of applicants is appropriate. The authors have divided the PES process into five stages: Prepare, Plan, Search, Lp, Decide. This structure is also reflected in the legal section of the guide. The processes involved are systematically outlined.
