The book "Racialization, Racism, and Anti-Racism in the Nordic Countries" offers a comprehensive analysis of the topics of discrimination, racialization, racism, Islamophobia, and the anti-racism movement in the Nordic countries. The contributions examine critical media events in a highly mediatized society and illuminate how racialization occurs in an environment shaped by commercial interests and anti-migrant as well as anti-Muslim narratives. The authors criticize the surprisingly limited research on national racism and racialization and demonstrate how individual events contribute to the reinforcement of racist inequalities. The aim of the book is to define and understand the development of modern racism in Scandinavia.
