The authors, both 56 years young, are active in sports with two artificial hip joints each. Heidi Rauch plays golf and skis actively, while Peter Herrchen is an active table tennis player, jogger, and triathlete. Although the authors Heidi Rauch and Peter Herrchen cannot draw on personal experiences in the case of knee surgery as they did in their successful hip encouragement book, the intention remains the same: to encourage those affected to undergo the necessary procedure in order to enjoy new joy in life with an artificial knee joint. The focus of this encouraging book is on personal accounts from patients with knee total joint replacements (Tep), who are back to playing sports and managing their daily lives without issues. Five experienced surgeons from Hamburg to Garmisch-Partenkirchen contribute their expertise.
