The Reader New Media compiles foundational texts on the topic of new digital and interactive media and communication technologies for the first time in the German-speaking world - annotated and expanded with relevant biographical, social, and media historical contexts. The focus of the collection is on a cultural studies approach that understands the computer as a meaning-generating medium through which power can be created, politics can be conducted, and art can be produced. The annotated compilation allows for a compact access to the heterogeneous field of digital media and art.
