Can we say that German poetry has a special relationship with nature? Perhaps, because there is probably no other national literature in which the subgenre "nature lyric" is so extensive and diverse. Since the early 18th century, poets have drawn poetic inspiration from nature as the counterpart to humanity and its concerns. This anthology provides a concise overview of the rich tradition of nature poems in German literature. It is therefore also well-suited for use in school lessons and in seminars on literary history.
