Recently, I read a small book: "Florentin" by Dorothee Veith, later known as Schlegel. It is the only work from the circle of the Romantics that one can mention alongside "Wilhelm Meister" without making oneself look ridiculous. It contains an extraordinarily clear understanding of all human relationships, both natural and social, a fine psychological instinct, and a fresh, concrete representation. Theodor Storm.
