Apart from the novel fragment "Heinrich von Ofterdingen," this volume brings together the poetic work of Friedrich von Hardenberg. It includes poems from his school days and the story "Die Lehrlinge zu Sais" (The Apprentices of Sais), which contains the famous fairy tale of Hyazinth and Rosebud. Additionally, it features the "Geistliche Lieder" (Spiritual Songs), the "Hymnen an die Nacht" (Hymns to the Night), and late poems and drafts by the poet, who died at an early age.
