The volume presents the most important authors and works of Italian literature through texts and excerpts, from the "Canticle of the Sun" by Saint Francis of Assisi to contemporary authors Niccolò Ammaniti and Stefano Benni. All texts are accompanied by a brief introduction. The texts are in the original language, with translations of difficult words at the bottom of each page, as well as a postscript and references.
