"Pecore nere" - black sheep - is the title of an anthology that was first published in Italy in 2005. It contains eight stories by four authors: Igiaba Scego, Laila Wadia, Gabriella Kuruvilla, and Ingy Mubiayi. All are from the second generation of immigrants and address the issues faced by people who belong to more than one culture in their stories. In all the texts, the authors portray Italy as a society in transition, which, from their perspective, is (still) not satisfactorily fulfilling its new role as a country of immigration.
