This recorder technique is aimed at advanced alto recorder players who are looking for material to consistently work on the fundamentals of their instrumental and musical skills. This technical work can be seen as a continuation of the two alto recorder volumes "Fun and Play with the Recorder," as the elements of basic technique addressed in the alto recorder school are continuously developed with a focus on artistic recorder playing. In accordance with the original literature of the instrument, the exercises primarily focus on the alto recorder. Some technique chapters are to be practiced on both the alto and soprano recorders (in transposed fingerings). The term "technique" should not be misunderstood: the ultimate goal of the exercises is artistic expression, inspiration, emotion, and tonal shape.
