Can managers successfully balance the increasingly challenging demands of their profession with the wishes of their partners and children? Or will they ultimately be torn apart and have to choose between their career and their family? At some point, managers face the question of how to measure the success of their lives. Is it by the happy adults who were once their children? By their financial situation? Or by the titles they have acquired? What this work offers is a very personal assessment of thirty managers who participated in an extensive scientific study. As a result, three fundamental types emerged, which can be understood through anonymously presented case vignettes. Additionally, highly insightful findings about couple relationships enrich the discussion.
