After assessing the current refugee crisis, it is time to advance the integration of refugees who will live in Germany for the long term or permanently, as well as to prepare for a renewed increase in the number of refugees. The first part of the manual "Refugee Law and Integration" therefore analyzes the measures that were necessary to manage the refugee crisis from the perspective of various state and societal actors such as the German Red Cross, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, and the housing industry. There is also a section dedicated to the views of the states and municipalities. The second part includes a presentation of the legal norms relevant to refugee law in a broader sense. It explains international refugee law, European Union law, as well as federal asylum and residence law.
