What impact does the Bologna Process have on design education in architecture programs? The authors demonstrate how a systematic and effective design education can be established within the tight timeframe of a bachelor's degree. The Bologna reform and the introduction of the bachelor's program posed the challenge of revising teaching concepts in higher education. However, this also presents the opportunity for a more flexible study plan. The authors illustrate how a methodological design education can be developed in the bachelor's program, describe the competencies of the designing architect, propose strategies to derive a curriculum for design education from this, and document its implementation, organized by semester. Through semester schedules, exercises, and student work, the systematic structure of design education is explained.
