In children with severe disabilities, a dependency relationship between teacher and student quickly develops. The teacher moves, positions, and cares for the student during lessons - the student allows themselves to be moved, positioned, and cared for. However, when we think about the goal of self-determined living, we must also provide the student with the opportunity to expand their motor skills during lessons. This book exemplifies the movement disorders that can occur in children with severe disabilities, using infantile cerebral palsy as a case study. It then explains how therapeutic and educational content can be linked in the classroom. A comprehensive practical section illustrates, through photos, how movement-supporting measures can be integrated into lessons.
