A wide-eyed aunt, a pleated skirt, a caring mother, a strict father, a patched shirt, three brothers, and an unfriendly cashier: these are just some of the people and things that consciously and unconsciously shaped Reka Benedek in her youth and accompanied her as an adult on her path from East to West, which is paved with stumbling blocks. She is now writing down her memories and brings her companions closer to the reader through thoughtful and ironic narratives. To illustrate her flashbacks, she has also immortalized the protagonists in wood: thus, they have become carved stories as well.
