Against the background of the discourse on the quantity of childcare places for children, the priority of the quality of early childhood education work is emphasized and the question is investigated whether religious education work with girls and boys under the age of three is possible. Literature from the field of religious education studies and crèche literature and models of faith development are taken into account. On the basis of an exemplary Protestant institution, the legal framework and the requirements of the responsible body with regard to religious education work are analysed. A nursery teacher, a pastor and a childhood educator are interviewed on the basis of focused interviews, which were supplemented by the aspect of narration. These are presented and compared. All interviews will be presented with the approach of children's theology and, in addition, each interview will be presented in a different way.
