Kathrin Nieder-Steinheuer has developed a model that allows for the analysis of the communicative constitution of the category of Christianity in entertainment formats. Central to this is the observed connection in the examined formats between ecclesiastical spaces and geographical concepts on one hand, and religious normativity and statistically-normal concepts on the other. Thus, the previously theologically dominated research on religiotainment is complemented by a non-normative analytical tool for the cultural presence of Christianity in entertainment formats.
