For many Americans, the Iraq War manifested only in shocking but abstract statistics. What the public received came from embedded journalists, those reporters who operated under the supervision of the American military. However, two young American journalists are determined to educate their fellow citizens about the fatal consequences of this war. They travel to the Middle East in 2010 to report on the reality of the Iraq War and the situation of the war refugees on the ground. A childhood friend, who served as a soldier in Iraq and is now returning as a civilian, adds to the potential for conflict. Sarah Glidden accompanies the trio and documents the journey, which for the young Americans is also a struggle to come to terms with their own decisions and those of their country.
