The work of sculptor Herbert Meusburger, born in 1953 in the Bregenzerwald, has gained immense recognition in the German-speaking world. The Vorarlberg Museum is now publishing a comprehensive monograph on his life and work in the year of the sculptor's death, which was developed in collaboration with him. Herbert Meusburger's artistic beginnings lie in wood carving. Starting in 1985, he began creating his first works in stone. While boulders and solitary pieces initially characterized his sculptural work, from the 1990s onwards, increasingly complex architectural granite formations came to the forefront. The theme of "Separating and Connecting" runs like a common thread throughout his oeuvre.
