With Otto Rudolf Schatz (1900-1961) and Carry Hauser (1895-1985), two significant Austrian painters can be discovered who long stood in the shadow of famous contemporaries like Kokoschka and Schiele. Primarily active in the field of graphics, they were exhibited internationally very little. Wars, exile, and political system changes shaped their biographies.
