Sebastian Pyka develops impact models that deeply explain the influence of role stress on sales performance. In doing so, the author for the first time integrates the psychological ability of resilience in salespeople into the research context and subjects it to comprehensive impact analyses. Through two surveys and an experiment, the theoretical findings are empirically tested, highlighting the significance of resilience for sales performance. Since role stress is inherent in personal selling and sustainably affects sales performance, sales management must empower salespeople to successfully cope with this challenge.
