The era of theories of modernity with a philosophical-sociological focus is by no means over, as is sometimes assumed. On the contrary – our present seems to require and demand such theories. The search for a sense of place and orientation with regard to the future is omnipresent. Hartmut Rosa raises his voice here, and with his book "Resonance: A Sociology of World Relations," he has provided a comprehensive positioning. The response to his resonance book has been and continues to be enormous. Clearly, Rosa has struck a chord. Despite its academic weight, this publication has found a large readership that extends beyond the academic audience. As expected, Rosa has sparked discussions that reflect the pros and cons of his theses. This book offers a substantial contribution.
