"Rethinking Chicana/o Literature through Food" is an academic book that explores the connection between Chicana/o literature and the themes of food and consumption. In recent years, the field of Food Studies has established itself; however, the role of food in Chicana/o literature has not been thoroughly addressed by literary scholars. The contributions in this book propose using the concept of Food Consciousness as a new perspective to analyze the literary discourses of Chicana/o authors. This analysis takes place in the context of a shift from national to postnational identities and highlights how food culture is reflected in literature. The authors bring various approaches and perspectives to explore and question the complex relationships between identity, culture, and nutrition.
