Riegler Riewe was founded in 1987 by Florian Riegler and Roger Riewe in Graz and is one of the most prominent and internationally renowned Austrian architecture firms, with branches in Berlin and Katowice. This new monograph presents previously under-published buildings and projects from the past ten years, embedded in written contributions from international authors in the fields of architecture and urban planning. Since the beginning of their work, Riegler Riewe has consistently and convincingly pursued a rejection of the pictorial. They focus on user-oriented, yet usage-neutral spatial structures and strive for a research-driven, unintentional, yet precise and subtle architecture. The result of this approach is buildings that embody both the ordinary and a certain ambiguity, and which operate at all scales—from the floor plan.
