This textbook, developed in collaboration with a native speaker, introduces the Quechua language spoken today in the Andean countries of South America, which was also the language of the Incas. It focuses on the dialect of the Ayacucho region (southern Peru). The texts and dialogues reflect typical situations and circumstances of life in the Andean highlands and are supplemented by brief comments on cultural content and literature references. The entire grammar of Quechua is explained gradually and systematically, with exercises to reinforce understanding.
