Bibliothek des Blicks / Wilhelm von Gloeden
German, Bernhard Albers|Ekkehard Hieronimus, Ekkehard Hieronimus, 2018Product details
Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931) was an internationally recognized photographer of primarily male nudes around the turn of the century. After the First, and even more so after the Second World War, his work fell into complete oblivion. This essay was originally part of an exhibition catalog for the centenary exhibition "Otto Meyer-Amden / Wilhelm von Gloeden / Elisàr von Kupffer" at the Kunsthalle Basel from July 15 to September 9, 1979. Ekkehard Hieronimus (1926-1998) has slightly revised this contribution and added a subtitle. The second edition is being published on the occasion of his 20th anniversary of death.
