Lake Iseo is one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy! Its spectacular landscape of water, mountains, and medieval-looking towns fulfills the expectations of most visitors for the ideal holiday region, the "bel paese." Nevertheless, it does not have the tourist fame that Lake Garda or Lake Maggiore can boast. Lake Como is also far more popular. The reasons for this can only be speculated: on one hand, it may be due to the fact that the provinces of Brescia and Bergamo could not agree on a common marketing concept, and on the other hand, the local infrastructure often seems inadequate to meet the guests' demands. Common holiday portals frequently report a lack of shopping opportunities, too few leisure attractions, and mediocre accommodations, even mentioning a latent unfriendliness of the locals towards tourists. However, for most visitors, this is hard to understand or even incomprehensible! Perhaps it is simply to prevent the entire life of the residents from revolving solely around tourism? Consequently, property prices are skyrocketing, and the region is changing similarly to other tourist hotspots (not always positively).

Indeed, life at Lake Iseo is calm, large man-made "attractions" are absent, and the marketing machinery operates modestly. The fact that visitor numbers have shown a pleasing development over the past decades is undoubtedly due to what the lake and its surroundings have to offer: a magnificent, diverse, and little-touched nature, holidays away from mass tourism, and all at relatively affordable prices. Lake Iseo is undoubtedly something special! It is definitely worth a visit to see it for yourself.
