Product details

Rohini Devasher (1978) engages in her research-intensive practice with the boundaries between science, art, and philosophy. Astronomy holds particular significance for the Indian artist, where the manipulation of light plays a central role. Through "borrowed" or reflected light, phenomena can be captured and understood that actually lie in the dark—often far beyond the realm of human perception. Devasher demonstrates how multifaceted the processes of seeing are and how narrow the line is between knowledge and mystery. In 2024, she was awarded "Artist of the Year" by Deutsche Bank. The publication is released in conjunction with her first institutional solo exhibition Borrowed Light in Germany at the PalaisPopulaire in Berlin.
