Roland Gäbler (born October 9, 1964, in Bremen) is a German sailor and a member of the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein as well as the Kieler Yacht-Club. He participated in five Olympic Games. Gäbler grew up in Bremen, where he started sailing on the Weser River. His talent for sailing was encouraged by his parents, who bought him an old Laser. At the age of 14, he took part in his first regatta, and a year later he won his first sailing competition. Throughout his career, Gäbler won two European Championships and 14 international Laser Championships.
