The Bloodaxe Crew has arrived in the village of Istré - outnumbered and with three missing members. Although they are at a disadvantage, Hekla, Rib Smasher, is determined to fulfill their mission: to defeat the evil fog with a heartbeat and protect the citizens of Istré. What she doesn't expect is that the stubborn chief of Istré is putting obstacles in her way at every turn. Desperate, Hekla throws caution to the wind and indulges in a single passionate night. To her dismay, the mysterious warrior in the red robe, to whom she has confided her deepest secrets, is the new leader and ally of the Bloodaxe Crew - Eyvind Hakonsson. Hekla must now learn to play by Eyvind's rules while also protecting her heart. However, when it becomes clear that his plans align with those of the chief, Hekla takes matters into her own hands.
