Humor, tension, and psychological insight - Sörensen's second case is top-notch crime fiction. It's just before Christmas, and something terrible happens in the otherwise dull Katenbüll. Young Ole Kellinghusen nearly runs over a young woman in the middle of the night: blind, emaciated, wearing a much too thin nightgown despite the icy cold. Jette doesn't say where she comes from, and she doesn't provide a last name. When Detective Commissioner Sörensen finally uncovers her address, the woman's father is already dead: he lies in the living room, with seventeen knife wounds in his back. Sörensen must confront not only religious fanaticism but also his own demons, as he has recently stopped taking medication for his anxiety disorder. A TV adaptation of the series, starring Bjarne Mädel, is in the works.
