Frida is a sound designer and one of the best in her field. She can imitate the sounds of horror and the chaos of war. The only noise that should be cut out is the cracking of her hips that accompanies her steps, she thinks. You can hear the years passing by. And yet, everything could have continued like that, life with Robert in the house outside the city, if Jonas, a young director with an apocalyptic film whose soundtrack has gone missing, hadn't suddenly appeared. Frida is to travel to Japan, specifically to Kyoto, to reconstruct the lost soundtrack. However, there are more than just technical challenges awaiting her there. Her encounter with the young Takeshi shakes Frida's world. And when a heavy earthquake occurs, the lines between cause and effect, inside and outside seem to completely blur.
