Antholz - what a resonant term for the ever-growing community of biathlon enthusiasts! As a competition venue that hosts the World Cup circuit every year, Antholz is also present in the public eye beyond the sports media. But who really knows exactly where Antholz - that is, the Antholzer Valley - is located? Among hikers and mountain lovers, the region in eastern South Tyrol is still regarded as a hidden gem. This is despite the fact that it has always offered a landscape diversity that is unparalleled: on one side, around the majestic Hochgall, which rises over three thousand meters, lies the spectacularly glacier-decorated Rieserferner Nature Park; on the other side, the lush alpine landscapes surrounding the neighboring Gsieser Valley - and directly opposite, south of the Hochpustertal, the sharply rising rock pinnacles of the Sexten and Prags Dolomites.
