Product details

Love at first sight certainly applies to the Dolomites. There is probably no one who can resist their allure. It is the contrasts that make the Dolomites so unique: rugged limestone castles towering over wide, open valleys, bold rock needles next to karst high plains, and narrow gullies over vast snow bowls. However, at first glance, the peaks appear to be unfriendly for skiing: too steep, too forbidding, too rocky. Upon closer inspection, though, the connoisseur sees that there are indeed attractive destinations for ski tourers. Not every tour aims for a summit; often, it ends in a notch or on a ridge at the foot of a steep peak. Nevertheless, among the photogenic rock spires, one can always find summits that can be reached with skis all the way to the highest point. Thus, ski tourers are found in all parts.
