Hiking in the Southeastern Alps. The Julian Alps connect Slovenia and Italy and have always been a space rich in encounters and events. It features 22 one- to seven-day tours through magnificent landscapes, to sparkling lakes, and up breathtaking peaks: Triglav in the eponymous national park, the Julian Pre-Alps Nature Park, the turquoise Soča River, Jof di Montasio, and Mangart. Along the way, you will learn about turbulent historical moments: Austria-Hungary fell here, Italy occupied the Soča Valley, and Yugoslavia bordered the West. The history of the Slovenian Alpine Club, iron smelting, the Isonzo Front during World War I, as well as language and culture are also recounted.
