Pope Francis has faced internal criticism within the Church since his writing "Amoris laetitia" on love in the family. In response to the attacks against the Pope and the post-synodal document, the international Catholic initiative "Pro Pope Francis," launched on October 16, 2017, by Vienna's pastoral theologian Paul Zulehner and Czech sociologist and religious philosopher Tomás Halík, publicly supports the Pope. It advocates for a pastoral culture oriented towards mercy, promoting a path that the Church should take together with its Pope. This debate volume gathers statements from important church representatives, religious figures, theologians, public personalities, spiritual companions, and engaged laypeople from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
