The "Gerathewohl" is the standard work on reinsurance. Since its publication in 1976, it has not been surpassed. The textbook is designed in such a way that it can be used in circles of reinsurers and primary insurers, as well as in the fields of economics and law. The broad target audience includes practitioners, scholars, trainees, and students. The extensive material necessitated a division into Volume I and Volume II. Volume I covers the actuarial, economic, and legal foundations of reinsurance, as well as the techniques and execution of individual reinsurance agreements. In this context, the authors also address questions of fundamental importance for the reinsurance of various insurance sectors. An overview of the contents of Volume I and Volume II is provided at the beginning of the table of contents of this volume.
