They are among the best experts on the beaches and stones of Rügen - the author Rolf Reinicke and his wife Inge Reinicke. They have often and extensively wandered here together for four decades, collecting, photographing, and documenting along the way. Countless photos and finds from their hikes have made their way home, including all those found in this book. Rolf Reinicke (born 1943) is regarded as an experienced geologist and an excellent landscape photographer. He provided the photos and texts for all of his numerous books, including this one. His wife handled the editing and made illustrations. Their son Matthias Reinicke, a graphic designer, lives and works today in Victoria, BC. He contributed the graphics.
