Product details

Anna Sommer (May 13, 1968, in Aarau) is a Swiss comic artist and illustrator. She lives and works in Zurich. Sommer completed the foundation course at the Zurich University of the Arts and an apprenticeship as a graphic designer. At the same time, she has always enjoyed drawing a lot; as a child, she especially liked to draw women in high heels. However, Sommer almost stumbled into comic drawing by chance: "As a child, I naturally read Tintin and Wilhelm Busch, who were obviously important for my comic education. But then I didn't read comics for years." In 1996, Sommer's comic debut "Damen Dramen" was published. The A5-format volume tells wordlessly about different women, playful yet serious, innocent but completely free of scruples, as Milena Moser writes in the blurb. Due to the success of her wild and quirky, sometimes frivolous stories featuring and revolving around women, Sommer gained recognition.
