Expert knowledge is of great importance to the art trade. There is a diverse demand for the expertise of independent specialists in the international art market. The related questions regarding the liability and limitation of liability of art experts are becoming increasingly significant. These issues are examined in a practical manner by Daniel-Philipp Häret based on a comparison of German, English, and French legal systems. The author thoroughly addresses the respective liability requirements of substantive law, the aspect of due diligence obligations, and the possibilities for limiting liability.
