Product details

The Masonic lectures published here by Rolf Appel (born 1920) represent only a small selection. Eight folders, all packed with manuscripts, contain the diverse thoughts of the author of this collection. He delivered his first lecture at the age of 31, in the presence of the then Grand Master Theodor Vogel. He was a sought-after speaker in 94 lodges both domestically and abroad, including in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Latvia, and Lithuania. Noteworthy were his speeches honoring literature prize winners Max Tau, Lew Kopelew, Reiner Kunze, and Arno Surminski. Rolf Appel was a member of the Ritual College and participated in negotiations with the Protestant churches. He was also a member of the Dialogue Commission with representatives of the Vatican and authored the famous "Lichtenauer Declaration." Additionally, he wrote around 40 books on the subject of Freemasonry. The former publisher received numerous awards and honorary memberships for his contributions.
