At the age of 30, Petra emigrated to Egypt, as she did not see her destiny in Germany or in public service. In Egypt, she initially met her dream partner, whom she ultimately rejected. Later, she met her future husband Sayed, with whom she had a mostly very harmonious marriage for over six years. Their happiness was completed by the birth of their daughter, until Petra discovered that her husband had made a mistake that would have serious consequences for all their lives: Sayed had to marry his infidelity, and a time filled with suffering, violence, and disappointed hopes began. This culminated not only in Petra's escape from Egypt to save her daughter's life but also illustrated the often painful journey of self-discovery and love for oneself and life. After divorcing her husband, Petra intensified her quest for self-fulfillment.
