Product details
Franzobel focuses on the peripheral events in his drama about the assassination of the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand. Beyond the intrigues of the powerful, the service staff also demands their historical significance here. No event has shaken the old world as much as the shooting of the heir couple on June 28, 1914. Sarajevo has etched itself into the European subconscious as the site of the European Big Bang, the starting point of two world wars. The misshapen heir couple was not only embittered and power-obsessed but also one of the few true love couples of the Habsburgs. The assassin Gavrilo Princip was not just a blinded, nationalistically inclined high school student, but also a world improver and revolutionary. Seven female inmates of a correctional facility want to process this story.
