The author and art historian Paul Lehfeldt (February 9, 1848 in Berlin; July 2, 1900 in Bad Kissingen) describes in this volume the architectural and artistic monuments of the district court area of Roda (Duchy of Saxe-Altenburg) - from A like Albersdorf through Erdmannsdorf, Ilmnitz, Möckern, Roda, Schlöben to Z like Zinna and many more. Lehfeldt was appointed conservator of the art monuments of Thuringia in 1884, succeeding Friedrich Klopffleisch (1831-1898). He mainly focused on documenting art monuments, particularly as the director and editor of the Corpus work on Thuringian art monuments. He also published numerous articles on this topic in specialist journals. For his publications, he was appointed royal titular professor by the Prussian Minister of Culture.
