He is the prototype of those Sunday and holiday poets who aim to delight readers of the founding years. However, in Balduin Bählamm's case, his civil obligations prevent him from ever bringing his poetic works to paper. Ultimately, even the muse of poetry appears to him in a dream as a winged lady clad in white. But suddenly, his wife pulls him out of his dreams: the heavenly figure disappears, and one thing is certain—Mrs. Bählamm calls out as he awakens: "Come on, my dear! It's already eight!"
