The steam navigation from Dresden to Meissen and Riesa - a guide for travelers from 1853. On July 8, 1836, twelve citizens of Dresden were granted the exclusive privilege by King Friedrich August II of Saxony to establish a steam navigation company in the Kingdom of Saxony. They had one year to develop the steam navigation on the Elbe and opened the Dresden Elbe Steam Navigation Company in 1837. From 1839, the company operated under the name Royal Privileged Saxon Steam Navigation Company, and the previously limited privilege of 5 years was extended until 1849. Subsequently, the K.K.priv. Elbe Steam Navigation offered daily trips. Illustrated with 3 images and 1 map. Reprint of the original edition from 1853.
